A reliable and innovative family-owned company
DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE develops and manufactures high-quality uncoated, woodfree speciality papers. At its production and administrative site in Lachendorf, around 500 employees manufacture approximately 170,000 tonnes of speciality paper each year on three paper machines.
Papermaking in Lachendorf dates back to 1538, making DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE Germany’s oldest paper mill still in operation.
DREWSEN has maintained a presence in the United Kingdom since 1985 through its subsidiary, DREWSEN SPECIAL PAPERS Ltd.

Three Product Groups for Different Applications
For almost five centuries, DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE has been synonymous with the development of highly specialised papers. With a strong focus on innovation, its own research and development department and a clear understanding of evolving market requirements, DREWSEN continuously develops its product portfolio.
The portfolio is divided into three product groups:
- PROSECURA - Security papers for reliable counterfeit protection
- PROTECH - Technical papers for industrial converting and finishing
- PROFINO - Speciality papers for a wide range of printing and packaging applications
Since 2019, the SUSTAINABLE PAPER SOLUTIONS team has been developing paper-based solutions that can reduce or replace plastic in suitable applications.
