Apart from each paper machine, the heart of production, additional technology is responsible for
the pulse of manufacturing: paper re-reelers, roll wrappers, sheet cutting lines, guillotines,
coilers, and precision sheet counting machines all contribute to producing the required product.
In addition to this, the power supply is secured at DREWSEN from its own steam turbine powerhouse.
Turbines transfer natural gas into electricity for the whole plant and produce the 460° C hot steam
required for heating the drying cylinders on the paper machines. The economical treatment of the
wastewater from production is carried out by a multi-stage process: residues are used for building
materials and pure water flows back into the river Lachte.
